#TrinidadandTobago – The Caribbean Public Health Agency believes Cancer in the region can be curtailed if we all just act earlier.  In a statement issued over the weekend, CARPHA Executive Director, Dr James Hospedales explains, “The good news is that a large proportion of cancer deaths in the Region for both males and females can be prevented through primary prevention and early detection.  Breast cancer can be detected early and treated successfully.  Cervical cancer is the most preventable through vaccination against the human papilloma virus (HPV), screening, education, early detection and treatment,”  In men, the two leading cancer killers are Protate Cancer and lung cancer.    The region is adopting a We Can, I Can theme and Dr. Hospedales adds, that we ought Choose prevention – and take advantage of screening services offered by your community health clinics, health practitioners, and cancer organisations.  Other healthy choices include:  quitting smoking, drinking less alcohol, keeping physically active, maintaining a healthy weight and choosing healthy food and drinks.

#CaymanIslands – Two seven mile beaches made the Trip Advisor best of 2017 list.  The seven mile beach in Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands where those commenting say it is that white sand… the crystal clear waters and the royal palms dotting the shoreline which have placed this coastal favorite at No. 5 best beach in the world… the other, and another favorite thing, the Seven Mile beach in Jamaica at No. 8.  You find this piece of paradise in Negril in the Westmoreland parish, where the usual list of loves are met but Jamaica’s seven mile beach edges out others because of the water sports activities available there… interestingly, neither of these seven mile strips of beauty are really seven miles long.. but hey, that’s okay!  You’re in the top ten in the world baby!
