#Bahamas, March 17, 2018 – Nassau – Crowds of residents and the general public attended the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture’s “Youth Outreach and Culture in the Park”, held at the Cynthia “Mother” Pratt Park, Second Street, The Grove, in St. Barnabas, on March 10, 2018.   The event is a part of community outreach, and a way to encourage and recognize the youth and culturally-minded persons throughout The Bahamas.  Minister, the Hon. Michael Pintard, and Member of Parliament for St. Barnabas, Shanendon Cartwright were among those bringing remarks.

Among the many activities were performances by various community and youth groups, including the Mt. Moriah Constituency Transformers Marching Band, Rhythm and Youth, Christian Massive, the Bimini Avenue Singers, Junior Miss Galaxy Bahamas Maleah Gabrielle Miller, P3 Mime Group, as well as demos by the RBPF K-9 Unit and the RBDF Rangers, and boxing and martial arts presentations.  Also, the food vendors were from the local community.

Youth Outreach and Culture in the Park, taking place every other Saturday, is a part of a wider initiative that the Ministry is embarking on to support creative and cultural artists in The Bahamas as it seeks to uplift the various neighbourhoods throughout The Bahamas.
