TCI: Public Notice: Gaming Consultation Letter

Dear Stakeholders;

In 2015 the Ministry of Tourism, Environment, Culture, Heritage, Maritime and Gaming, was instructed to begin legislation work with the Attorney General’s Chambers with regards to the Gaming Ordinance and Regulations, in line with a proposed draft policy.’ The policy was developed through a consultation process with key stakeholders and is the basis for the now Draft Gaming Control Bill.2018.

On March 11, 2016 the Ministry responsible for Gaming, retained Gaming Laboratories International, LLC (“GLI”) as a consultant to assist with the development of a modern gaming regulatory structure that will facilitate the most efficient and effective oversight of all aspects of the gaming industry in TCI.

Cabinet at its meeting on Wednesday, 31st January received a presentation by the Hon. Minister for Tourism, Environment, Culture, Heritage, Maritime and Gaming on the proposed draft Gaming Control Bill. It agreed that the draft Bill should be put out to public consultation.

The Ministry responsible for Gaming is pleased to provide the draft Gaming Control Bill for public consideration.  The Bill is now uploaded at:  www.gov.tc and provisions made for comment on the outlined clauses.

The Ministry will also email the draft to stakeholders, including individuals and groups who are directly or indirectly involved in the gaming sector, religious organisations and others.

Respondents are urged to headline their comments using the headings of the particular clause or Parts or divisions to which their comments refer.

The deadline for submission of all comments and suggestions is February 20th 2018.
