Providenciales, Turks and Caicos – February 12, 2018 – Thirteen boys completed a pilot program at Long Bay High School in Providenciales which exposed to them the pitfalls of ‘doing’ dangerous drugs.

The session started in December for the boys and facilitators included Diane Paul, the school’s Guidance Counselor who is also a certified substance abuse counselor.

The boys learned of the dangers of drugs, resistance skills and social challenges which contribute to drug use and abuse.  Parents of the boys attended a passing out ceremony held last Thursday and each of the young men participating earned themselves a certificate.

It was less clear in the government issued media release if the program, supported by the Department of Youth, will be repeated.
