TCI Premier’s brother latest life lost to violence in Bahamas

#Bahamas, January 19, 2018 – Nassau – Around noon Thursday, Royal Bahamas Police discovered the body of a man with various injuries in an abandoned building on Market Street in Nassau.  The man, believed to have died due to “blunt force trauma” as stated by Press Officer, Supt Shanta Knowles is confirmed to be the brother of Turks and Caicos Islands Premier, Sharlene Robinson.

The news is shocking and has already drawn messages of condolences for the TCI leader.  A simple “yes” was what Magnetic Media was told as Hon Robinson confirmed directly to us that indeed the man found at the former grocery store on Market Street was her brother.  A quiet, succinct reply as we could only imagine the shock and grief for the Premier and her family at getting such devastating news.

Crime is down 14% in The Bahamas reported the Force this week; still murders for 2018 now stand at seven…. maybe eight as news late today surfaces of a homicide in Abaco.  Police say the parking lot is used often as a thoroughfare by the public, they are asking for anyone who may have information in the case to call it in.
