#TurksandCaicos, January 10, 2018 – Providenciales – Giving to help the Turks and Caicos in its rebound from Hurricane Irma in September 2017 continues and 2018 began with a wonderful gesture from a luxury island travel booking company, which worked with the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association for a donation which brought hundreds of smiles to the faces of students in Five Cays, Providenciales.

“Today we are very thankful as a group, as a family for this donation.  It will go a far way in helping our kids to be more thankful to persons in the community who make our lives better.  We know that we’re in the rebuilding of our school at the moment, but we’re still resilient and we’re looking forward to brighter and bigger days ahead.  So thank you to the TCHTA for organizing the event for us today, and to the government representatives how were instrumental in getting and ensuring that the items were shipped and delivered to our school.  So thank you very much to the CPS family, we are eternally grateful for you kind donation to us today,” said Sophia Garland – Principal of Enid Capron Primary.

Enid Capron Primary School was the beneficiary of 50 computers and headsets and 650 bags filled with notebooks and supplies thanks to a gift from Island Destinations; the COO turned up in person to make the presentation.

“….we’ve been in business over 30 years and it is very important to us, education, because these are the people that are taking care of our clients everyday.  So we are very passionate about them having what they need to continue their education and hopefully go on to university,” said Laurie Palumbo, COO – Island Destinations.

The Education Minister, Karen Malcolm was on hand for the presentation which will see four areas of the school equipped with computers – library, early childhood and the computer lab included.

“I just want to say thank you on behalf of the government and the people of the Turks and Caicos, along with the Ministry of Education.  I am very happy today, and this is a good way to begin the new year.  Thank you.”

Enid Capron Primary School is situated in Five Cays, one of the hardest hit areas of Providenciales in 2017s Hurricane Irma.
