#TurksandCaicos, January 11, 2018 – Providenciales – The Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA) reaffirmed its commitment to making a positive difference in the community on Friday, January 5th through a major presentation to the Enid Capron Primary School (ECPS), thanks to its partnership with Island Destinations Travel Group Foundation (ID).  The Foundation donated 50 computers to the lab at Enid Capron Primary School, along with accompanying headsets, a server, a printer, backpacks and care packages for each of the school’s 641 students.

The donation exercise, spearheaded by Island Destinations Travel Group Foundation and in collaboration with the TCHTA and other travel partners from North America, is an amazing “tourism cares” initiative demonstrating the strength of the TCHTA’s relationships with key industry partners.  The computers are a much-needed asset to the school’s computer lab and will provide students at ECPS the necessary tools to advance in their technological skills, as well as provide the teachers the proper resources to facilitate a 21st century learning experience.

“We hope that these computers will go a long way in enhancing students’ academic achievements, and facilitating further avenues for research and learning throughout this academic term and in the years to come,” says Stacy Cox, CEO of TCHTA.

More than 20 North American agents, including the COO of Island Destinations Travel Group Foundation and the President and CEO of Signature Travel Network, were on-hand for the presentation. The agents were visiting the island to attend the Signature Summit event, and spent the weekend attending activities at several resorts.

During the donation ceremony, remarks were delivered by the Hon. Karen Malcolm, Minister of Education, Youth, Sports & Library Services.  Attendees were treated to musical selections by ECPS Band, as well as a tour of the school’s facilities.

TCHTA Board Members and The Source Group also distributed breakfast to all students. The TCHTA would like to express its sincere gratitude to Island Destinations Travel Group Foundation, Signature Travel Network, The Source, Spa Tropique, Paradise Photography, Point Grace, Grace Bay Club, Beaches Turks & Caicos and  Windsong Resort for their profound generosity and support.
