TCI: Christmas message from the Commissioner of Police

#TurksandCaicos, December 22, 2017 – Providenciales – 2017 has been a testing year for the nation and particularly for the Police Force.  We have undergone numerous structural changes, promoted an unprecedented number of officers and recruited experienced new staff.  Our efforts have brought a high number of serious criminals to book and assisted the country in recovering from the after effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

I, my senior team and all officers and staff of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force are committed to keeping the good work going to ensure the safety all our citizens and visitors.  Whilst many of you will be taking a well deserved break, many of my officers will be performing extra duty throughout the Christmas period as we seek to ensure that those intent on causing harm are not permitted to do so.

This is a time of family celebrations and gatherings, office parties and vacations.  I hope that these all go exceptionally well and that you all manage to enjoy this festive period. If you are traveling, or visiting friends and family, please make sure your home is secure.  If you are driving please take care for yourself, your passengers and other road users.

On behalf of all members of the Force may I wish you a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

James Smith

Commissioner
