Seven arrested for gun finds by Bahamas Police, including a woman

#Bahamas, December 4, 2017 – Nassau – More guns are off the streets reports the Royal Bahamas Police and seven people are arrested.   Six males and one female were taken into custody for possession of illegal firearms found on Friday and Sunday.   In Chippingham Nassau, a group of men, acting suspiciously caused a search.  Four rounds of ammunition, a handgun and a shot gun were pulled off two men in that instance.

Another search, the day before on Friday in south western New Providence resulted in the discovery of an illegal Smith and Wesson .40 pistol and fourteen rounds of ammunition.   The AntiGang and Firearms unit was acting on information in the matter where the guns and ammo were actually found in a work shed at the cemetery.

Around 2:00am Sunday, Officers conducted a search of a home in Yellow Elder Gardens where they recovered a 9mm pistol and two rounds of ammunition.   Four males and one female were arrested in that case.   The general public is also reminded that as of December 31 all firearms licenses expire; renewals can happen between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday at the licensing office on Thompson Boulevard and from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays, also at the licensing office until further notice.
