#Bahamas, December 4, 2017 – Bimini – A 55 year old Key Largo man is sentenced to 10 years in prison for a drug bust foiled by the US Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations agents in March 2017, and during the trial it was said the drugs were smuggled out of Bimini.    Manuel De La Caridad Riesgo-Penate is said to have hired two men to transfer the drugs from Bimini to Key Largo on their go fast boat.

Agents retrieved 800 kilos of marijuana and six kilos of cocaine from the boat and the sea; the pair tried to dump the illicit cargo.   The men say they were paid $15,000 each for the job and Reisgo-Penate copped a plea for a guilty on drug and human smuggling in the case which is reported in the Miami Herald.
