#Bahamas, December 11, 2017 – Nassau – Bahamians are vociferous today on social media about photographs and cell phone video featuring an illegal migrant interception at Clifton Pier.  From questions about how the suspected Haitian vessel made it in so close to land, to calls for there to be serious investigations launched into who is behind the major money making movement of human beings, to slams of human rights activist Fred Smith for making matters worse, they say to a few saying Haitians need to know that the Bahamas is no paradise and should therefore remain home in Haiti.

It is said the group numbered 200 and was caught trying to land near the Commonwealth Brewery in New Providence on Monday morning.   One striking comment linked to the video posted at Bahamas News said,”…all these people fighting for Haitians really need to go to Haiti and fight their government, demand answers.   Make them accountable for their actions against these people.   They are truly hurting to get on a boat and risk their life…  I pray in 2018 all the activist get together and go to Haiti on behalf of their people they love and value because it’s only so much the Bahamas government can give them….  I hope there is a change coming I really feel bad for them.  The Official report on the illegal migrant interception was later issued.
