PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands – November 13, 2017 – It is said that the weather had nothing to do with a boat running aground at the Caicos Marina and Shipyard on Sunday morning, that it was a lack of familiarity of  the waters there that got the pleasure boat stuck.

The at least 60-footer, ran around from shortly after 5am Sunday and was freed by near 3pm with the help concrete company, CBMS.

Police and civilians were  on the scene as the tour boat – the Turks and Caicos Explorer II – was unhinged.

It was not clear how many were on board the vessel at the time it ran aground, but we are told there was a captain, small crew and 15 passengers.

Everyone is reported as safe.
