#Bahamas, November 7, 2017 – Nassau – A One Bahamas Church Service was held at Ebenezer Methodist Church on Sunday, November 5, 2017 honouring the life and accomplishments of Bahamian Olympian, legendary sailor, and community benefactor Sir Durward Knowles, who celebrated his 100th birthday on Thursday.
Representatives of many sectors of national life attended the service, including Governor General Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling. Photos show Sir Durward greeting the Governor General inside the church and waving to First Bahamas Sea Scouts, assisted by his son, Randy; his daughter, Charlotte, gave remarks — among notable speakers from religious, civic, athletic, and diplomatic corps areas of the society.
