Bahamas: Minnis labelled a ‘Hypocrite’ by PLP former Chairman

#Bahamas, November 21, 2017 – Nassau – The country’s leader is being slammed and labeled a hypocrite over his remarks and his appearance at the opening of the SLS Baha Mar by former PLP National Chairman, Bradley Roberts.    Roberts in a statement on Sunday said everything the PLP said about the project is proving to be true and that fact exposes that current PM Hubert Minnis was only out to destroy the project for political gain.

Roberts said the appearance of PM Minnis was not a hologram, that the country was seeing a ‘hypocrite in the flesh; live in living colour.”    Roberts said from the payment of Bahamian workers left displaced by the project to the openings at Baha Mar when Perry Christie was prime minister – there was no sham, all real and all true he defended.

Roberts added that, “Had Baha Mar gone the route of bankruptcy in Delaware as Minnis and [Dionisio] D’Aguilar had publicly suggested, Baha Mar would still be closed, thousands of Bahamians would still be unemployed and hundreds of contractors would still be owed hundreds of millions of dollars with little to no chance of financial recovery.”

SLS Baha Mar opened on Friday with 50% of its 300 rooms occupied.
