#TurksandCaicos, November 27, 2017 – Providenciales – The Amanyara was named best overall restaurant at the 2017 installment of the Conch Festival, which despite damages caused to the site by Hurricane Irma had a successful showing this past Saturday.   Three Queen’s in Blue Hills was pounded by September’s Hurricane Irma, and the evidence of a battered building and busted roof are still there but the organizers made the event happen and hundreds were again drawn to the spot.

Under a 120x40ft tent, set up and largely donated by We’ve got U Covered event company and with some 21 vendors this year, the tradition of the Conch Festival was kept alive.   Premier Sharlene Robinson assisted in the presentations of prizes at this year’s cooking contest and Wheeland Member, Delroy Williams helped in presenting the Rotary 50/50 prize.   That went to Sean Craig, who got 50% of the earnings from a raffle which was $3,515; the other half said Rotary goes to a scholarship fund which is being established by the organization.

The Conch Blowing contest was held too and it was won by French-Canadian, Vigneault.
