#TurksandCaicos, October 25, 2017 – Providenciales – Three months in prison for the nine Dominican poachers arrested on October 6 by TCI police for stealing fish from TCI waters. Each man was charged with two marine offences and for each, the judge handed down a 3-month sentence; these will run concurrently though.
The crew was found guilty of taking marine product without a license and using an unlicensed boat for commercial fishing. The fish caught by the DR fishermen and their boat are now the property of the TCI Government by court order.
