#TurksandCaicos, September 10, 2017 – Providenciales – Got into Grand Turk today by Cayman Islands Police Helicopter.   As reported already, there is much structural damage to homes, businesses and Government buildings, no lives lost.   LIME will travel there tomorrow to begin its work to restore connectivity.   A state of emergency has been declared for Grand Turk.

Salt Cay was reached today where Police were able to speak with 12 of 16 persons who remained on the Island.   Structural damage.

Police traveled into South Caicos.    Confirmed the Reports that was already received by me from the DC.    Considerable damage and no loss of life is the case.    I had an aerial view and will travel tomorrow to South Caicos.    Relief has been organised for South for tomorrow.   Relief items are being organised as well for Grand Turk.

Emergency aid and relief continues to come in tomorrow…boats and planes.   Full update on Monday morning.   Electricity and communication (phone) is top priority as we provide relief items.

Hon. Premier Sharlene Cartwright-Robinson
