#Bahamas, September 18, 2017 – Ragged Island – The plan is to transform #RaggedIsland into a sustainable community explained Prime Minister Hubert Minnis, ….who is facing push back from residents there who say they want to go home despite the island being declared ‘unlivable’ by the nation’s chief.    It will be a fully green island and if the Administration can get it done, Ragged Island would be the first of its kind for the region.

The PM said the island can emerge from the destruction caused by hurricanes Matthew and Irma as a new model, with stronger building codes and improved zoning to mitigate against climate change and rising sea levels.    The PM said, ‘I assure the wonderful people of Ragged Island that their island will be rebuilt.  We will work with private institutions, international agencies and foreign partners to create a more sustainable island-community.”
