Bahamas, September 9, 2017 – Nassau – Based on advice from the MET Office, The Ministry of Education in the Bahamas have made the following announcements:

Teachers and administrators on the island have been given the ‘all clear’ by the National Emergency Management Agency and The Bahamas MET Office. They are asked to report to work on September 11 at the regularly scheduled time.

The only exceptions being the islands where evacuations have taken place.

Students should return to school on Tuesday, September 12. Again, with the exceptions being the islands where evacuations have taken place.

Hurricane warnings are still in effect for Bimini and Grand Bahama, therefore schools on those islands will remain closed until further notice.

The Ministry of Education says it is taking the necessary precautions to make sure students and staff are fit to return to school.
