PRESS RELEASE- HURRICANE IRMA UPDATE #1: SUSPENSION OF FLIGHTS

#TurksandCaicos, September 5, 2017 – Providenciales – The Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA) wishes to announce ​that according to hurricane projections and in accordance with hurricane orders there will be tentative suspension of flight operations on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017 at 6:00 pm local time.

​Flight suspension is based on weather conditions that are dynamic by nature.   Suspension of flight operations will affect all airports including; Providenciales, Grand Turk, North Caicos, South Caicos and Salt Cay airports.

The Airports Authority remains committed to the safety of aircraft, passengers, staff and other users of the airport.   We regret any inconvenience caused and passengers are asked to contact their respective airlines for flight  rescheduling.   All scheduled flights for today, Tuesday, September 05, 2017 are expected to operate as usual.

The Airports Authority is closely monitoring the storm’s progress and will issue updated reports accordingly.
