Emergency Evacuations on for SE Bahamas, Bahamasair to the rescue

Bahamas, September 6th, 2017 – Nassau –  The Bahamas Government has decided to evacuate the Southern Bahamas because Hurricane Irma is simply the worst storm the country and meteorologists have ever seen. PM Hubert Minnis announced the emergency evacuations last night during a national address.

Bahamasair has issued a media statement to say how they will make that happen for the islands of Acklins and Crooked island, Mayaguana and Inagua, Long Island and San Salvador.  Ten flights have been arranged for the islands in the south and they begin at 9:45am.  The Thursday flight out of Providenciales TCI is also moved up to today as the Provo airport closes at6pm today.  Bahamasair says that flight will leave at 9am.
