#Jamaica, September 28, 2017 – Kingston – The Jamaican Government wants to partner with the private sector to see a national CCTV system established.   PM Andrew Holness in his quarterly press briefing shared the vision and said the government is already developing a protocol which enables privately owned security cameras to point in the public’s direction and for the Internet protocol to send that visual information to a central database.

Holness believes this is the easiest way of rapidly expanding #CCTV potential in Jamaica and he said the government is so serious about getting the private sector on board, that it is prepared to throw in some fiscal incentives.    The CCTV system is one of the initiatives government wants set up to curb crime.
