Shooter gets seven years in TCI prison, enters guilty plea

#TurksandCaicos, August 15, 2017 – Providenciales – A guilty plea by 20-year-old Cydireo Smith of Kew Town has gotten the man, seven years imprisonment for ‘Wounding with intent’ after Smith on two occasions, earlier this year, tried to injure someone with a weapon.

Police remind us of the case from January 6th where it was reported “the male complainant contacted station and reported that he had an altercation with Smith earlier that night where Smith tried to stab him but was unsuccessful.   Smith left and returned with a gun and fired three shots at him.  The victim received a gunshot wound to the right shoulder.”

A day later, #CydireoSmith was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.  The charge was significantly reduced to ‘wounding with intent’, Smith last week plead guilty and will be out of prison in seven years or less.
