Turks and Caicos, August 7, 2017 – Providenciales – FortisTCI wishes to advise all our valued customers that the outages they experienced on Thursday, 3rd August and Friday, 4th August, have been due to equipment failure on a section of the underground transmission lines to the Grace Bay substation.
We are pleased to advise that service was restored to all customers by 1:30 p.m. on Friday, and our crews continue to monitor the system to ensure a return to normalcy and reliability to our customers.
Reliability is one of our top values at FortisTCI, and we work continuously to ensure that we have a first class generation and distribution system to meet the energy needs of our Islands. Nevertheless, electrical systems are by nature complex, and equipment failures will occur from time to time.
