Bahamas Police gets gun, ammunition, drugs, suspects and ask for help with armed robberies

#Bahamas, August 15, 2017 – Nassau – In other Police news, two males were arrested following the seizure of a ammunition on Sunday August 13th.    The Drug Enforcement Unit, got a significant tip and conducted a search of an abandoned building on Ragged Island Street, where they uncovered 50 .38 rounds of ammunition.   Two male males found in the building and they were taken into custody in connection.

Three more men are in custody for drug possession after Mobile Division officers on routine patrol intercepted a Honda Accord with three suspicious males on Collins Avenue.   A search of the car turned up marijuana; this happened on Monday.

Mobile Division officers arrested five (5) others between Sunday and Monday for armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and outstanding court warrants.   Also, 52 drivers were arrested for various traffic violations.   A sawed off shot gun was found after a search of  a premises on Strachan’s Boulevard off Soldier Road around 4pm Sunday, No one was arrested in connection with this discovery.

Police say they need help in finding who was behind two separate Sunday August 13th armed robberies in Nassau.    In the first incident, shortly after 12:00 noon, a man was about make a deposit at a local bank in Western New Providence, when three males in a stolen gold Honda CRV car license plate number AK6511 armed with handguns pulled up and robbed him of a deposit bag containing a large amount of cash before speeding off.   The stolen car was found abandoned on West Bay Street.

In the second incident, shortly before 9:00 pm, a man had just pulled up in his Hyundai Tucson car at his home located in Imperial Park, when two males with handguns approached and robbed him his vehicle containing a small amount of cash before speeding off.   The stolen vehicle was later located abandoned in the Redland Acres area.
