Assault leaves man partially paralyzed

#TurksandCaicos, August 21, 2017 – Providenciales – Officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force are investigating the report of an incident that left a 59-year-old male of South CAICOS partially paralyzed.

Around 1:59 AM on Sunday 20th August 2017, officers responded to the Jimbalaya Bar located on Butterfield Drive where the complainant was met and told officers that a male came into the bar and started to cause a disturbance. At the time of police arrival, the suspect had already left. The victim requested police assistance to warn the male from coming to his bar.

The male returned to the bar around 2:18 AM and began beating the victim about his face and body causing injuries. The male was later arrested on suspicion of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

The injured man was taken to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre and was later flown off to Jamaica for further medical assistance.
