Turks and Caicos, July 7, 2017 – Providenciales – Two islands in the southern TCI could be looking at finally getting direct flights from a major U.S. hub.   After negotiations went cold during the Rufus Ewing Administration with possible airlift provided by IBC Airlines to commute between Florida and Grand Turk, directly, it appears interest is revived.

Cabinet, in that June 30th meeting revealed thatapproved was the commencement of negotiations with IBC Airlines about air services between South Florida, Grand Turk and South Caicos for further consideration by Cabinet.  The Governor was also advised to re-allocate a quarter of a million dollars.

The $250,000 from within the Tourist Board budget would be for the purpose of new marketing activity, Cabinet said.
