Department of Agriculture launches vaccination program

Turks and Caicos, July 22, 2017 – Providenciales – The Animal Health Services Division within the Department of Agriculture (DoA) in collaboration with the veterinary professionals and other partners, wishes to advise residents throughout the Turks and Caicos Island about the first National Vaccination Program for dogs starting on July 22, 2017 in Providenciales and end on August 12, 2017.

Free vaccination will be administered by veterinary teams. These vaccines will provide coverage against Rabies, Canine Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Para-influenza and Leptospirosis. On July 22, 2017 three teams will be in Blue Hills, Wheeland area. Locations to access the veterinary teams are Walkin Marine Gas Station, the Jetty and Grants Gas Station from 8: 30 am to 12:30 pm.

They teams will rotate throughout Providenciales from July 22, 20217 to August 12, 2017.  Then to Grand Turk on August 19, 2017, South Caicos on August 26, 2017. On July 29, 2017 they teams will be in Kew Town and Five Cays Community, locations to be announced at a later date.

Additionally, these free vaccines can be accessed at Woodring Vet Services, TC Veterinary Services and Bark and Bliss during their operating hours on week days.

The department is encouraging animal owners to take advantage of this free service to protect our animal’s health and prevent suffering.   A veterinarian can be contacted at any of the three veterinary clinics on Providenciales:
