Turks and Caicos, June 20, 2017 – Providenciales – JUST IN: A new head at the National Health Insurance Board has been announced with IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

Zaneta Adderley-Burton is fired as CEO and Dr. Hamlet Nation is now acting CEO.

Since her appointment as CEO in 2011, the conditions at NHIB have rapidly deteriorated and there have been calls for Mrs. Burton to be replaced. Mrs. Adderley-Burton, a native of The Bahamas, previously worked with the National Insurance Board (NIB) of The Bahamas. At the time she was hired, her husband Gordon Burton was a member of the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority Board, whose CEO was John Smith, who was at that time chairman of NHIB.
