TCI competes again at Taste of Caribbean, hotel execs attend CHIEF

United States, June 5, 2017 – Miami, FLTurks and Caicos is again wowing audiences in the annual and ultimate culinary challenge of Caribbean Chefs at Taste of the Caribbean being staged in Miami, Florida this past weekend. 

TeamTCI is led by the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association as the cook off is a Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association initiative. 

There are seven major categories within which winners are named including National Team of the Year, Chef of the Year, Bartender of the Year and Junior Chef of the Year where Turks and Caicos’ RobinAngel Simons won the top honour in 2016. 

There are several familiar faces on the culinary team including RobinAngel, who is studying in the UK; Chef Charles Joseph of West Bay Club; Chef Edwin Gallardo of Seven Stars and lead chef, Colin Watson of Beaches Turks and Caicos.  

The Taste of the Caribbean in So-Flo, this year also brings in a major business meeting for CHTA, that is, CHIEF or Caribbean Hotel Industry Exchange Forum.  

First female TCI Hotel Manager, Adelphine Pitter of West Bay Club, was this year nominated for Hotelier of the Year during the CHIEF sessions.
