Grand Turk, TCI June 8, 2017 – The appeal for Cortez Simmons has been adjourned to October when the Court of Appeals returns. Simmons was convicted of murdering Keziah Burke in 2015 two years after the incident at Uncle Doe’s Bar in Providenciales. Simmons is serving a life sentence for the murder which stirred up much controversy. The jury verdict in his case was not unanimous. Simmons’ appeal was expected to go before the court today.
