Bahamas, June 5th 2017 – Nassau – Opposition leader, Phillip Brave Davis has said that “There are no deals but expenditure in the public interest.” His defense comes after Deputy Prime Minister, Peter Turnquest accused the PLP of making costly commitments mere weeks ahead of the 2017 general election.

One of the PLP’s final commitments before being voted out of office included $30M sidewalk contracts. However, Davis is standing in defense of his party refuting the claims that they made “deals”. Instead, Davis said that there were projects already trained and projected for prior to a date being set for the 2017 election.

On the other hand, MP Englerston, Glenys Hanna-Martin, adding to Davis’ defense called the FNM-government hypocritical, since she revealed that a past Ingraham-led administration did the same thing. The difference this time however, she explained, the motives and objectives of the PLP were different to that of the FNM.
