Miami, Florida June 5, 2017 Brandon Russell, grandson of Grand Bahama Park N’ Shop owners William and Molly Russell, is being held without bond in Miami on charges of possessing a destructive device and storing explosive materials. Russell, 21, described himself as a Neo-Nazi to the police and was found to be a member of Atomwaffen – a group whose name means “atomic weapon” in German.

Russell was arrested on May 22 while officers in Tampa, Florida were investigating a double homicide committed by his roommate, Devon Arthurs. According to Key News, the FBI had issued a criminal complaint against Russell on May 21. Police uncovered the explosive hexamethane triperoxide diamine (HMTD) and bullet casings, which they claimed could be used as detonators, among Russell’s belongings. Although Russell has entered a not guilty plea, he could serve more than 10 years in prison if found guilty of the felony charges. Russell is member of the US National Guard and is a former student of the St. Andrew’s International Baccalaureate of New Providence.
