Bahamas, June 14, 2017 – Bimini – Dozens of Biminites are expected to turn out for a town hall meeting on Thursday night and the focus will be ongoing environmental concerns and the recommended way forward for the future of the island in the northern Bahamas.
Waterkeeper Bahamas and environmental advocacy group Save The Bays, will host the public meeting which will also feature new MP for the constituency, Hon. Pakeisha Parker Edgecombe; Save The Bays director of legal affairs Fred Smith, QC, dive master Neal Watson II, and representatives from both the Ministry of Environment and Resorts World Bimini.
Not only will the town hall meeting feature a short video and a brainstorming session, but it will aim to create a symbiosis between development and safeguarding the aquatic environment of the country’s fishing capital. The meeting, open to the public, is set for Louise McDonald High School at 7pm and will include light refreshments.
