Grand Turk Fishing Tournament this weekend, supports Natl Museum

Turks and Caicos, June 14, 2017 – Grand TurkThe Grand Turk Fishing Tournament is gearing up for another exciting event June 16-18.  Magnetic Media had reported that the tournament was on Queen’s Birthday holiday this past weekend, but it is actually this coming weekend in the capital and will feature fundraising throughout and two days of fishing capped off with an awards presentation supported by the Governor and Premier.

Dubbed the Grand Turk Liquors Charity Fishing Tournament, the fundraising Calcutta is on Friday at the Salt Raker Inn, complete with silent auction and boat bidding.   Saturday and Sunday are for angling, weigh-ins are set for 3pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.   Prize giving is also on Sunday evening and the organization, which is a registered not for profit explains, there are almost 100 prizes up for auction and raffle from sponsors, including hotel stays in Provo, wine vouchers, cell phones, grocery and gas vouchers, jewelry, clothing and even air travel. 

The group has in years past supported the Geriatric and Special needs (Wellness Center), the H J Robinson High School, Eliza Simon’s Primary School, TCI Community College and will in 2017 support critical repairs at the 200 year old Guinep House, which is the home of the TC National Museum. 

The Grand Turk Fishing Tournament is encouraging everyone to support their event, again set for this weekend.
