Connolly speaks, says termination bombshell dropped on her this morning

Turks and Caicos, June 16, 2017 – Providenciales – Josephine Connolly says that she is stunned by the move of the Premier and confirmed to us, just moments ago, that she was indeed fired by Sharlene Robinson and that she found out in a meeting with the Premier only this morning.

Connolly says this move is in violation of the PDM Constitution which would have required that a formal complaint was lodged and that she would have had a chance to answer to that complaint.

While Connolly, who was the second most popular At Large elected member in the recent 2016 General Election, admitted that there was an NGC Meeting of the People’s Democratic Movement last Friday night where there was talk of the rumors and a call to respect party leadership, she says nothing was said to her directly.

A meeting had been requested of the Premier by the now former Education Minister, she explained in a phone interview, but that meeting was not granted until today when she learned that since yesterday her position in Cabinet had been revoked.  Connolly says a press release for her to explain her side is coming.

Josephine Connolly also told Magnetic Media that this decision to revoke the ministerial position has no bearing on her commitment to serve as an all island elected member to the House of Assembly.

Mrs. Connolly called rumors of her ‘cussing out’ the Premier untrue, and said she was ‘very careful’ in dealing with the family emergency involving her nephew and his newborn son.
