London, UK June 6, 2017 – The third attacker in Saturday’s terror attack at London Bridge has been identified as 22-year-old Youssef Zaghba. Zaghba is of Italian and Moroccan descent.

Last year, Zaghba had been stopped at a Bologna airport and detained as it was discovered he was en route to Syria via Turkey. However, Zaghba was released because he was found not to have specific jihadi connections. He was not under investigation in the UK where he lived in East London.

Zaghba, along with accomplices Khuram Butt and Rachid Redouane drove a van into a crowd near Borough Market on Saturday night and attacked bystanders and police with 12-inch knives leaving seven dead and 48 injured.
