21 year old Ellington Been gets suspended sentence

Ellington Been, 21 years old of Blue Hills Providenciales, was given a 12 months suspended sentenced yesterday (Wednesday 7th June 2017), after he previously pleaded guilty to a charge of Handling Stolen Goods on Monday 24th April 2017.

The complainant who also resides in Blue Hills, reported to officers on Sunday 6th November 2016, that when she arrived home from Church she noticed her front door opened and upon making further checks she noticed her home ransacked and a number of items missing including a Movado Wrist watch valued at $900.   Police commenced investigation.

On Monday 10th April 2017, acting on information, Detectives executed a Search Warrant at a Pawn Shop where it was ascertained that Mr. Ellington Been sold the watch for $250.   He was arrested on Friday 21st April and later charged and cautioned for Handling Stolen Goods.   He told officers that he was broke, and that he had to sell it to buy milk and pampers for his son.
