North Caicos, TCI May 5, 2017 – Home Affairs Minister Delroy Williams is once again urging residents to take hurricane preparedness seriously. At the launch of Hurricane Preparedness Month in North Caicos today he told attendees: “We need you to prepare. Help us to help you by preparing yourself for this hurricane season.”
The launch was the official opening ceremony for a month of activities organized by the Department of Disaster Management & Emergencies including staff capacity building, inter high school debate, poetry and art competitions for primary schools and training.
The primary schools participated in the opening ceremony held at Horse Stable Beach in North Caicos for the twin islands, performing songs and skits with a Hurricane preparedness message.
