Turks and Caicos, May 20th 2017 – Grand Turk – TCI born Calvin Francis has gone from athletic island kid to International University American football scholar. Originally from South Backsalina in Grand Turk, Francis is now officially signed to the Southern Illinois Salukis team at the University of Southern Illinois.

The 6ft 2inches, 209lb Defense Tackle has been in high demand since 2015 as seven other U.S universities, including the University of Toledo in Ohio, University of Massachusetts, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and Tennessee State University, among others all offered him scholarships. In the end, Calvin made the decision to become a part of the varsity team at the University of Southern Illinois.

Known by the number 75 on the field, Calvin attended Eliza Simons Primary School before heading off to Jones High School in Orlando, Florida where he outshined many in on the football field. A star on and off the field, Calvin graduates from high school this weekend.

Magnetic Media extends congratulations to this young talent and wishes him all the best in his bright future. May you continue to wave the TCI flag high.
