Over 850 Police promoted, two days to vote

Bahamas, May 2, 2017 – Nassau – Another big move by the PLP Government in the lead up to the General Elections, and two days before the members of the Royal Bahamas Police Force vote there is announcement that 1851 police have received promotions.

Two superintendents move up to Chief Superintendents; 76 assistants move up to Superintendents; 90 inspectors are now made Assistant Superintendents; 107 sergeants are now inspectors; 253 corporals were made sergeants and 323 men and women are advanced from constables to corporals.

The announcement came from Police Commissioner, Ellison Greenslade who said the roles are effective from January 1, 2017 which also means these officers would be entitled to pay according to their new positions retroactivity.
