Greneda, May 11, 2017 – The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) has launched a climate change initiative following a week of events in Grenada surrounding sustainable development and environmental issues. The initiative, called iLAND Resilience, is a joint effort of the OECS Commission and the European Union’s Global Climate Change Alliance.
The nine OECS member states are participating in a number of projects including coastal protection and water security programs. At the iLAND launch, Grenada Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell said “Small islands are too vulnerable to be careless in issues that affect their resistance to natural and other disasters.”
