Bahamas, May 25 2015 – Nassau – Donnae Smith, a mother of two, was shot dead outside her Nassau Village home early this morning. Relatives said Smith was returning home after delivering her premature daughter at the hospital, when multiple shots were fired. A female relative, who heard the gunshots, ran to the scene where she found Smith lying on the ground but could barely speak. Her family called the ambulance and police, however her sister said, at around 1:05am EMT pronounced her dead.
Smith’s sister has since posted a video on social media showing the gun shot holes on their wall and revealed that her sister was shot 15 times. She said Smith ran for her life before collapsing feet away from their home. On the video, she pointed to the bloodstains on the ground.
Smith leaves behind another young daughter and her sister said was set to be married in July. No motive or suspects for the shooting has since been found. Police investigations are continuing.
