Davis officially sworn in as Opposition Leader

Bahamas, May 22, 2017 – NassauPhilip Davis is now officially sworn in as the Leader of Opposition business in the House of Assembly after a ceremony held yesterday at Government House.    The PLP’s interim leader told a large crowd of supporters which included the former Prime Minister, Perry Christie and former Education Minister, Jerome Fitzgerald that the party must now go to the three Rs which for him was:  reflection, reform and rebuilding. 

Davis is among four Progressive Liberal Party members left standing following the May 10 General Elections.  Davis is quoted saying, the Opposition PLP may be few in number, but that they are not alone. Performing the swearing in was Governor General, Dame Marguerite Pindling.
