Baha Mar agreement unsealed, Bahamas to pay $4M in marketing

Bahamas, May 2, 2017 – Nassau – The heads of agreement between Baha Mar and The Bahamas Government is exposed now, the Attorney General made the document public yesterday and while it is a couple of weeks late she told media she is happy to show the public what was agreed between Government and the new buyer.

Media reports have picked up on a promise by The Bahamas to assist with promotion of the resort to the tune of $4 million dollars annually and that Baha Mar has received concessions including three years VAT-free.  Baha Mar has agreed to employing 5,500 Bahamians at full opening and outstanding casino taxes at over $10 million dollars have been waived or lost to the Bahamian purse as the new owners are not required to pay that owed bill.
