50th Regatta golden in South Caicos

Turks and Caicos, May 30, 2017 – South Caicos –   The South Caicos 50th Regatta weekend was a hit with regatta races among A and B Class sloops, among junior racers and their picos, with donkey race, dance contests, live music including Sagittarius, unveiling of two commemorative signs courtesy of the District Commissioner’s Office by the Premier and Governor, two pageants where Anna Taylor was crowned queen and is the winner of a new car.

A brave ‘Uncle Archie’ or Bill Clare gave a final dive from the Regatta Village dock and we say brave, because this year we learned that Uncle Arch cannot swim… he was delivered safely back to shore with the help of his nephew who also took the dive and former South Caicos member and Chief Minister, who joined in the diving fun, Norman Saunders.

The food was great, the sun was hot and the 50th regatta is now in the history books.  Congratulations.
