Bahamas, April 25, 2017 – Nassau – FNM Candidate and popular businessman, Dionisio D’Aguilar had to pay a $15,000 fine for trying to defraud the Customs Department and the infraction was brought to light by Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Chairman, Bradley Roberts.  Roberts said the Free National Movement Freetown candidate knowingly and fraudulently altered original invoices issued by Whirlpool Corporation on a shipment of 27 commercial washing machines.   D’Aguilar owns Superwash Limited.

It was back in January 29, 2014, that the company admitted that it submitted a false declaration and was ordered to pay a $15,000 fine.   D’Aguilar said in a statement yesterday that the company was the victim of fraud by an unscrupulous broker and the loss was significant.

D’Anguilar said in a statement yesterday explained is that he was not surprised by Roberts’ attempts at political skullduggery, because as usual, he has once again exposed himself for being the “political hack and buffoon that he is”.   Roberts has said he takes no glee or pleasure in disclosing the information but “the public needs to know” and called on D’Aguilar to name the broker who was responsible for trying to cheat Bahamas Customs.
