Turks and Caicos, April 25, 2017 – Providenciales – One week ago 15-year-old Mario Powell lost his life in a tragic vehicular accident on South Dock Road. He left behind his parents who now have no living children and other family members to mourn. However, the Clement Howell High School where Powell attended is still trying to come to terms with their loss.

Magnetic Media understands that on Monday 24th April 2017, several pastors met with teachers and students at the school. Guidance counselors from other schools were also called in since some teachers and students need help dealing with the passing of their student and friend. Many of Powell’s teachers remain devastated and his fellow classmates are still in denial.  One teacher said that her students still believe that Mario is just absent but would return to class today.

In honor of Powell, the students of Clement High wore black t-shirts, which bore a picture of the teen on the front. Students also requested photos of Powell be placed in their classrooms. His form class also released balloons in the air in his memory during the memorial on Monday.

Powell, who was reported to have accompanied a friend to the police station to report a break-in at his friend’s home, died on the spot when the vehicle in which he was  traveling collided with a Garbage truck. The driver of the vehicle suffered a broken neck.
