Turks and Caicos, April 25, 2017 – Grand Turk – Officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force attached the Grand Turk Station are investigating the report of an Assault that occurred at Her Majesty’s Prison on Monday 24th April 2017.
Around 2:30PM officers responded to the Prison where the female prison warden was met and told officers that she was grabbed by an inmate and punched on her month. She was assisted by other inmates who held down to the accused. She received an injury to her lip. At the time officers arrived at the hospital, the accused who appeared to be unconscious was being transported to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre by EMT.
The victim was also taken to the hospital where she was treated for her injuries and later discharged. Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
