Bahamas, April 4, 2017 – Nassau – Infamous political activist and whistle blower Omar Archer will have to wait yet another week to find out his fate. This comes after Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis today delayed the case until Tuesday 11th April, 2017, when Archer will have to present a defense to charges of intentional libel and threats of death which has been pending since 2015.
Tuesday 11th April, 2017 also happens to be the same date that Prime Minister Christie has set to dissolve the parliament. Archer who had previously apologized for missing his last court date set on December 29, 2016, will not have a reason to miss his next court date since he will remain behind bars.
F.N.M’s lawyer, Barry Sawyer represented Mr.Archer. Halston Moultrie and Elsworth Johnson also appeared at court. Supporters outside the court were heard shouting “It’s the people’s time” in support of Archer as he was escorted by several, heavily armed officers early today.
